چکیده
Google Street View (GSV) was used for urban land use classification, together with airborne light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data and high resolution orthoimagery, by a parcel-based method. In this data article, we present the input raw GSV images, intermediate products of GSV images, and final urban land use classification data that are related to our research article "Parcel-based urban land use classification in megacity using airborne LiDAR, high resolution orthoimagery, and Google Street View" (Zhang et al., 2017) [1]. More detail about other used data and our findings can be found in Zhang et al. (2017) [1].

Development of an Automatic Land Use Extraction System in Urban Areas using VHR Aerial Imagery and GIS Vector Data
Lack of detailed land use (LU) information and efficient data collection methods have made the modeling of urban systems difficult. This study aims to develop a novel hierarchical rule-based LU extraction framework using geographic vector and remotely sensed (RS) data, in order to extract detailed subzonal LU information, residential LU in this study. The LU extraction system is developed to ex...
متن کاملUrban Land Use Information Retrieval Based on Scene Classification of Google Street View Images
Land use maps are very important references for the urban planning and management. However, it is difficult and time-consuming to get high-resolution urban land use maps. In this study, we propose a new method to derive land use information at building block level based on machine learning and geo-tagged street-level imagery – Google Street View images. Several commonly used generic image featu...
متن کاملUrban agriculture: long-term strategy or impossible dream?: Lessons from Prospect Farm in Brooklyn, New York.
Proponents of urban agriculture have identified its potential to improve health and the environment but in New York City and other densely developed and populated urban areas, it faces huge challenges because of the shortage of space, cost of land, and the lack of contemporary local food production. However, large portions of the city and metropolitan region do have open land and a history of a...
متن کاملSediment microbiomes associated with critical habitat of the Juvenile American Horseshoe Crab; Limulus polyphemus
Plumb Beach, Brooklyn, New York in USA is an important horseshoe crab breeding and nursery ground that has experienced substantial anthropogenic influence, including pollution, erosion and subsequent restoration. Since little is known about the relationship between sediment microbial communities and juvenile horseshoe crab survival, next generation sequencing was used to characterize and compar...
متن کاملValidation of Volunteered Geographic Information Landuse Change Using Satellite Imagery
Land use change monitoring is one of the main concerns of managers and urban planners due to human activities and unbalanced physical development in urban areas. In this paper, a combination of remote sensing data and volunteered geographic information was used to assess the quality of volunteered geographic information on land use and land cover changes monitoring. For this purpose, the ORBVIE...
